The Longship captures the essence of Orkney: proud of its heritage, but embracing the best the modern world has to offer. Founded in 1859 by the great-great-grandfather of the current owner, it started life offering ‘continental produce and imported wines’ – still a passion.

We use traditional methods and tools to create unique pieces, each of which combines a freshness of design with quality craftsmanship, overseen by master craftsman Steven Cooper.
Hume Sweet Hume
From our workshop, located on Westray, one of the most northerly of the Orkney Islands, we create a range of the knitted garments and home textiles.
We have worked hard over the years, to establish our brand, playing with soft muted tones and textures derived from the sky, sea and landscape of our home.
